Give Thanks for flower power.

Give Thanks for flower power.

These photos are from my recent trip to Crested Butte, Colorado’ Wildflower Festival, sort of.  At this festival one buys into events like guided hikes, photography classes and sketching classes.  I only have two pictures of actual wild flowers from the first day’s hike because it was supposed to be “A Grassy Meander” but was changed to a hike that began with “Heart Attack Hill.”   We went straight up and straight down for 7 miles and 5 1/2 hours.  My new camera wasn’t playing nice either so I just focused on keeping up with the  20-something leader.  The top two photos are of wild penstemon and a creekside mix of blue lupine, red paintbrush, yellow aspen sunflower and white cowslip.  The rest of the photos are of downtown flowers, planted by locals.  Talk about your social police… while I was snapping photos of in-town flowers a lady informed me “Those are not the wildflowers.”  We reap what we sow, I just said thanks.

Give Thanks for the way flowers make up feel!
