Give Thanks for New Ventures in 2014…

28 Dec

Hey All, I have some exciting news.  I’m now a Stampin’ Up demonstrator!  Yup, I’ve started a new business just in time for the fresh new start of 2014!  I want to thank all of you for your contribution to my decision.  Seeing the lovingly, creatively crafted cards coming in for Project Give Thanks motivated me to jump in and join the stamping’ world.  Officially, “Thank You!”   I’ll look for your guidance and support.

Not only am I starting a new business but I’m also starting a new hobby.   As I’ve confessed before, my creativity is locked up behind my fear of imperfection.  That’s okay, humble, fear laced beginnings never hurt anyone.  Right?  You’d tell me if they had, right?

The first thing I did was waste 2 weeks working on the wrong blog host.  I thought code focused blog host “Typepad” would be right for my new blog because Stampin’ Up superstar Mary Fish uses it.  Hey, I wanna be a superstar!   Lesson #1, “be myself.”  After 25 years as a homemaker I will need to take the slow, one step at a time approach.  Lesson #2, “my superstar sister, Michelle Zindorf, is a real artist so I should not expect to have her vision and creativity.”  That lesson came after I made 25 rather pathetic Christmas cards. Ouch!

On the more fun side,  I’ve ordered some amazing Stampin’ Up products that will allow me to easily make beautiful cards which I will share at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.   And, I’ve met my first card making buddy, Marla.  She just moved here from AZ.

You don’t know this about me but I’m a born teacher.  I love to share information and am very patient.  Also, my favorite activity is creating communities.  Odd, hugh?  Well, those two traits will server me well in my Stampin’ Up business.  Releasing my creativity, stifling my perfectionism, and struttin’ my stuff will come soon enough.

This post has been way too much about me.  What are You up to this new year?  If it happens to be stamping cards and you have a few extras please send them to Project Give Thanks and the sweet folks at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.

Delicately stamped hugs, Sonja

Coming soon… “Stampin’ from My House to Yours”

You always have my back. Even when you were young enough to ride my back. Thanks so much Sista!

You will do great as a demonstrator! Congrats to you! I know the Cancer Center will love receiving the cards you make as well. I know that when I signed up in December 2012, I thought I’ll just do it for the fun. Little did I realize that it was not only fun for me but I loved teaching others. I have made many new friendships and treasure each one. It was a real blessing for me and I’m sure it will be for you too!
